Traditional academy coaching can mean good earnings in term time, then a big drop when the school holidays arrive.

At Smash, your salary stays consistent.

What you earn is set by your coaching level and experience, and we'll talk it through with you at your interview.

At Smash, you're not a contractor chasing sessions or sending invoices. You're a full-time employee, on payroll, with a team behind you.

Afternoons are the job.Mornings are yours.

Your core coaching hours are weekday afternoons, 13:00 to 18:00, and the occasional Saturday with the older groups sits inside your salary. What you do with your mornings is up to you.

Your first group is just the start.

The standard

We can teach youthe Smash360 way.

Great coaches come in different forms. Some are brilliant with four-year-olds. Others thrive with an under-15 squad. We need both.

What matters most is that you:

Are great with kids
Are reliable and on time
Can keep a group engaged and moving
Are willing to learn and deliver the Smash360 method
Have reliable transport
Have, or are willing to get, police clearance
Speak Afrikaans, a bonus at certain venues

No CSA qualification? Never coached before? Apply anyway.

What do you handle, and what do I handle?

You coach. We handle the rest.
Registrations, bookings, payments, arrears and parent admin all run through the Smash system.
You arrive with the session already planned, the curriculum provided and the equipment ready.
Your job is simple: coach the kids, connect with the parents and deliver a great session.

What happens after I apply?

Every application is reviewed by a real person.
If you're a potential fit, we'll contact you within a few working days to chat about your area and opportunities nearby.
From there, we'll train you on the Smash360 methodology, coaching system and app before you lead a session.
When the right group opens near you, you'll be ready.

How long before I get a group?

Strong applicants move to the front of the queue.
The timing depends on when a group opens in your area: sometimes that's a few weeks, sometimes a little longer.
We'd rather be clear about that upfront than make promises we can't keep.

I've never coached, or I have no qualification. Worth applying?

Yes.
Every Smash coach is trained in the Smash360 methodology, so qualifications aren't everything.
We'd rather find someone who is great with kids, reliable and willing to learn, and teach them how to coach the Smash way.

I coach around another job. Is that a problem?

Not necessarily, as long as your weekday afternoons are free.
The salaried coaching role runs from 13:00 to 18:00, which can work well around teaching, studying or a morning job.
If your other work runs into the afternoon, that's the one part of the role we can't really move.

I'm a student. Is this for me?

Definitely.
If your mornings are lectures and your afternoons are free, this fits neatly around your studies.
You don't need a coaching background or a qualification. If you love working with younger kids and cricket is a passion of yours, apply and we'll find a way to help you get going.

Am I employed, or paid per session?

You're employed by Smash360 on a monthly salary.
You're not a contractor invoicing per session, and you're not employed by the school.
You're part of the Smash team, with your full employment terms set out clearly in your contract.

What happens to the information I put on the form?

We use it to assess your application and contact you about coaching work, and nothing else. We don't sell it and we don't share it. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@smashcricket.co.za. The full detail is in the privacy notice.
